Per, thanks again for your guess and your URL address. Either
I am very good at describing a bayonet, or you are very good at identifying
them. I think the latter is more likely. You were right on the money, it
is the Danish M1889 with leather handles. Do they make them with right
and left handed scabbards? The bayonet in the top of the picture is like
mine, but the seams and staples in the metal of the scabbard are on the
oposite side from that in the picture. Thanks again. TULROSE spouse Ed.

Hi Per. Sorry that I have not got back to you with the scanned
bayonet as promised, but am still having problems. However, the unknown
bayonet submitted by Tomasz Pietrzak is the same as mine. Like Graham Priest's,
mine has only one ear on the catch. It has a 'G' or '9' and a crown on
the lefthand elbow, and an unusual mark like a four-toed paw print or half
a sunburst on the rear of the sight bridge. Bayonet was found in Melbourne
in 1987 among a box of imported French M1886/93/16 bayonets. No other information.
Keep up the good work - the photos in your information pages are great!
Regards, John.

Per, I just happened upon your interesting and helpful page.
Thank you! I am probably best described as a semi-serious military arms
collector. Recently, however, my youngest son (age 18) has become interested
in collecting. I believe he is going about it in a more methodical manner
than I have. Although he is interested in a number of arms and bayonets,
he is concentrating on the German S98/05 "butcher blade" in its many variants.
I was searching the net for information when I found your site. Thanks

that were imported at that time.
